Countries with a coastline on the Persian Gulf are (clockwise, from the north): Iran, OMan (exclave of Musandam), United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Qa Tar on a peninsula off the Saudi coast, Bah Rain on an island, Ku Wait, and Iraq in the northwest. The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (Arabic: مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية), originally (and still colloquially) known as the GulfCooperationCouncil (GCC, مجلس التعاون الخليجي), is a regional intergovernmental political and economic union consisting of all Arab states of the Persian Gulf, except for Iraq.
