Kids Books With Chicks

Women complain that there aren't enough Kids Books with female protagonists.

They seem to be right.

Why is that? (esp given that most kids-book-buying is probably by mothers)

Orson Scott Card says It's just a fact of life - girls will read boys' books, but boys won't read girls' books. Live with it.
