Premium-Mediocre Writing

Writing that someone has invested time into polishing/packaging, but ultimately it just goes from mediocre to premium mediocre.

You could estimate that 80% of traditionally publishing writing (esp for magazines) falls into this.

More recently there are whole online courses to help people with this.

Though maybe that's just Sturgeon's Law in action, and the price of a social process that does generate the good stuff?
