Barrington Covid Test Center

I saw tweets about fake COVID-19 rapid test sites, and got concerned because 2 of my kids have gotten tested.

• NumberThree got tested before xmas when she felt sick during school - got negative result. We had tried the local Walgreens first but they didn't have any slots for days.
• NumberOneSon got tested at same site in early January after coming home from trip with a cough - got negative result
  • was dubious about his self-administered swab, so went to a different site the next day (directed by the local hospital) - also got negative result

The tweets/articles are about the "Center for COVID Control"

For NumberThree,

• we got a registration-confirmation email including "Thank you for visiting Chicago Covid Control!...Testing Location: 1000 Northwest Highway, Fox River Grove, IL" that had a Reply-To of Nick.Waters@chicagocovidcontrol.org
• The "Center for COVID Control" shows a location of 22176 N Hillview Dr, Lake Barrington, IL, 60010, US, which is about a half-mile from the testing location.
  • there are lots articles about them being investigated now
  • the 2 business locations in IL now have a rating of F from the Better Business Bureau.
• The "Chicago COVID Control" map page doesn't render well, but it does show the location we used.
  • their footer says "Chicago COVID Control is a compassionate non-profit organization" with address 185 Center Ct., Schaumburg, IL 60196, phone 630-447-9995
  • they have an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, though they're not accredited.
  • there are no articles accusing them of being scams. There is a page on a nearby school district site about them performing tests at a school.
  • the registration form shown in the video about "Center for COVID Control" seems like what I remember from our location (but can't be positive)
• The 2 websites have lots of identical content. There are only a few sites with the exact phrase "We will conduct a quick survey to better understand your business needs and strategize a custom fit solution for your organization."
• the results email came from ntl@labnotification.com - there is no website at http://labnotification.com/
  • the attachment has letterhead from "NTL Laboratory", 8833 Gross Point Rd, Skokie, IL, phone 847-699-7100, and noted "Primary Physician" as "LAZAREVIC, MILENKO", Electronically Signed by Medical Director:Patel,Sharad. PhD, LABORATORY CLIA ID NUMBER - 14D2075610, Lab Tech: NICK MARJA Lab Director: SHARAD PATEL
  • they have a website
  • they are listed in HealthProvidersData.com, as owned by Des Plaines Clinical Lab, which notes "The enumeration date for this NPI number is 5/13/2014"

This article about "scammers" links to the IDPH site's page - which shows no sites in Barrington, including any Walgreens, though it does show a CVS. A too-small list during test shortages doesn't help much.
