• tpot stands for this-place-on-twitter, and yeah, it's genealogy is a nerdy cocktail of mailing lists, blogs, and forums before finally morphing into the twitter cosmos (to be fair, many, if not most current people in tpot weren’t even born when this started, so no shame in not having read all of the blogs and emails). but don't get hung up on the ancestry; tpot is way more than its roots.
• it's everything and nothing.
• it does not have a physical location, yet it's mostly in the bay area.
• tpot has no rules, yet the unwritten code is crystal clear to those who are in it.
• it’s the spirit of innovation and progress. it's an enigma wrapped in a digital paradox.
• tpot is a vibe.
