Desktop Web Server
Web Server that runs on your local machine (DeskTop, Lap Top, Mobile/PDA)
- Dave Winer referred to these as "Fractional Horsepower HTTP Servers".
Probably only for local access, due to Full Peer issues. So if you want to hit it with your mobile, maybe you'd prefer something in a personal cloud.
- update: there are solutions to give your home server a static-IP and tunnel to it... but if you use it to host things that other people hit (e.g. your blog), then you can never shut it off:)
Or maybe a Proxy Server for interaction with the rest of the world.

To be able to add code to it, you'd need OSs to Bundle Many Runtimes. (So that the user could easily "import" somebody else's open source or commercial code.)
