You place nodes in whatever relative position you want, you vary the size/colors of the bubbles, you vary the text fonts/sizes/colors, you draw varying connections between any 2 nodes

Usually not how I work, but may want to experiment with it more...

Hmm, I wonder if D3Js would be a toolkit that would work as an approach to WikiPage As MindMap? (The page contents wouldn't be very readable without D3 since there would be so much formatting info...)
